JobRainbow.com Privacy Policy

JobRainbow.com has a commitment to protect your online privacy. We strive to ensure that the information you submit to us remains private. The following policy explains how we will handle your information. Since this is somewhat different depending on whether you are a job seeker or an employer, we have two different sections:

Job Seekers

JobRainbow.com gathers information about job seekers collectively, such as which pages users access or visit most frequently and what services users access the most. We only use such data in the aggregate. This information is used to help us improve the content of our Web Site and to continually create a better overall experience for our users.

In some cases, especially when you open an account or submit a resume to the resume database, we come into possession of more specific information, such as your name, address, email address, telephone number etc. If you just open an account and do not submit a resume to the database, the only information we will have is your name and email address. This information will not be available to anyone except JobRainbow.com. It will not be available to employers and recruiters. We may email you occasionally to remind you that you have an account on JobRainbow.com or that you should check out the job postings. We may occasionally email you advertising from other companies - this helps us to support JobRainbow.com, which is a free service for both job seekers and employers. We will always include unsubscribe instructions in any promotional email we send you.

We also have a resume database. Please be aware that, if you submit your resume to the resume database, all the information in it will be available to all the employers and recruiters using JobRainbow.com. If the company you work for happens to be one of the employers that is using the resume database, they may see your resume in the database.

If you don't want employers or recruiters to know who you are, you can make your resume confidential. If you do this, none of your contact information will appear in your resume. They will not see the name, email or phone number that you input in this section. They will only be able to contact you by filling in a form on JobRainbow.com. The output from this form will be emailed to you, and they will not know your email address. It will be up to you to decide whether you want to contact them or not.

If you put any of your personal information in the body of the resume, however, employers and recruiters WILL see it, so please be sure you remove this information if you want your resume to be confidential.

Sometimes candidates will indicate they want their resume to be confidential, but then in the Education or Experience section, they will just paste in their entire resume, which includes their contact information. This defeats the purpose of having a confidential resume.

To make your resume truly confidential, you may have to remove some of the company names of your employers as well, especially your present employer. Instead of "ABC Manufacturing, Atlanta, Georgia", for example, you could say "Large Manufacturing Company, Southeast US".

JobRainbow.com will not share your personal information (name, email address etc.) with any third party without your permission, unless you have posted that information in a non-confidential resume. If you post your personal information in a resume not designated as confidential, it is available to all recruiters and employers searching the resume database. In some cases, you may respond to a job ad in which it is explicitly stated that your resume WILL be sent to third parties (employers, recruiters etc.). If you apply to such an ad, you are giving permission for your resume and information to be sent to the third parties mentioned in the ad.

No website is completely immune from hackers. We strive to have a very high level of security, and our servers always have the latest security updates installed. Regrettably, though, there is no 100% guarantee that a hacker will not be able to penetrate this security and gain access to some or all of the confidential information on JobRainbow.com. Because of this, we do not recommend that you put highly sensitive and confidential information in our database. Most hackers would be looking for information they could profit from, like credit card numbers (which they will not find in our database), rather than information typically found in resumes and job ads. We cannot be held responsible for unforeseen and illegal use of our database by hackers.

With regard to the information gathered about all of our users collectively, JobRainbow.com will disclose such information to third parties only in aggregate form.

Employers or Recruiters

When you open an account with JobRainbow.com, the account information is only available to JobRainbow.com. We use the contact information from your account to communicate with you about your use of the website. We may email or phone you to inquire if you want to renew your job postings or posting plans or if there is some kind of a problem with your job postings (e.g., an invalid email address used in the ad).

We may also contact you about new developments or programs on the website, or to notify you regarding updates to JobRainbow.com. However, if you tell us not to contact you for these purposes, we will respect your wishes and will not contact you again.

When you post a job ad, all of the information in the job ad is available to anyone in the world with Internet access. This is why it is important to review your job ad thoroughly before posting it. If it contains information you do not want to be available to the general public, do not post it as is. If you are confused about how to post a job ad confidentially or how to format your job ad, please contact us first before posting the ad.

Confidential job ads do not show any company information from your account. However, if you include your company name or other information in the Main Body of the job ad which would reveal the identity of your company, that will be available to job seekers. You should also be careful with email addresses. An email address will often reveal the company placing the ad if the domain name is the same as or similar to the company name. E.G., if you were posting a confidential ad for Cobweb Manufacturing and your email address was Bob@CobwebManufacturing.com the ad would no longer be confidential since the domain name (CobwebEngineering.com) gives it away. We are not responsible for these kinds of mistakes made by job posters, so when you are posting a confidential job ad you must ensure that you do not include any information which reveals your company name or identity. One good way to do this is to click on the link that says "View the job first before posting." If you view the job and see information there you do not want in the ad, please contact us first so we can ensure your ad is truly confidential.

JobRainbow.com will not share your personal information (name, email address etc.) with any third party without your permission. When you post such information in a job ad, you are giving us permission to share that information with everyone using the website, which could be anyone in the world with Internet access.
