Creating Resume that attract Job calls by Stefan Graves

Building a Good quality Resume

As a fresher this will be your first time creating a resume about yourself. You definitely won't have any idea to what should be present in your resume and the content that add value to your resume. Many freshers feel that they don't have any extra qualification other than academic achievement but have lot to in their resume like their industrial visits, projects you have done - in projects try to describe more about the domain you worked rather than technical detail because the person who go through may not be tech guy instead a domain specialist or a HR. The more you talk a strength in a particular domain the high chance that the employer attracted to resume but make sure that the domain you mentioned is what the recruiter is looking else it will go against you.

Creating a bullet proof resume is always a continuous process and don't satisfy with your resume keep improving you resume. Your friends and lecturers will be good source, so show your resume to them and ask for their opinion also asks them where your resume needs improvement. In this process your resume will be much better.

Change your resume to suit the Job requirements

For successful job call one need to successfully pass the initial filtering and these initial filtering is one where the employer filters out almost 70% of the candidate based on Job requirement and resume match.

If your resume want to be the one that successfully pass these process, you need to create a custom resume for individual job that you are applying by making you resume that have point that meets the Job requirements.

And also if you post a resume that show that you have knowledge in a specific domain and the employer is looking for candidate with knowledge in some other domain then there is a high chance that he won't select your resume. The reason is HR will feel that if you are employed for that position, there is a high possibility that you may resign the job once you get a job offer with domain that you have interest and knowledge.

Let saw that you have did a project on web technology and gave a much important for that in your resume and the person looking for employee to program a windows based application than the employer that your interest is in Web technology and not in windows application. So customize your resume according to your employer job description or job needs.

And in Interest add listening music, playing cricket etc.,

Applying through Internet

Many of us have generally used to send the resume to company through email for any particular post or fresher Job position. In many these emails go to employer junk email folder because of the subject you have and email filter they use. To success apply to a position use the Job opening / career section in employer website.

Small jobsite and consultancies also attract good number of employer and also not many jobseekers have posted their resume in those sites, so post your resume to all small and large jobsite.

Constantly update the resume in jobsites

Jobsite's resume search engine list new and update resumes only on first page. So regularly update your resume in the Job sites. These will increase you chance of getting the Job offers.

Referrals / Employee Referrals / Job referrals

Employee referral is considered as a good source of recruitment and companies gives more weight age to people who referred through their already working employee than the directly application by the candidate.
